Financial Risk Manager – Vendor Investigations & Transaction Accuracy

About the role

Amazon is looking for a data‑driven Financial Risk Manager to join the Financial Waste team within Accounts Payable. The role focuses on preventing, detecting and investigating erroneous vendor payments using advanced data analysis and audit techniques.

Key responsibilities

• Review large volumes of payment data from multiple invoicing, payment and procurement systems to identify erroneous payments.
• Conduct audits, deep‑dives and special projects, delivering findings and recommendations to management.
• Maintain productivity targets and support Finance Operations teams on assigned activities.
• Ensure compliance with Amazon’s invoice entry and transaction processing policies.
• Collaborate with process owners to perform quality reviews and resolve complex payment issues.

Required profile

• 4+ years of fraud or risk investigation experience.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Strong analytical abilities, attention to detail and effective communication skills.
• Experience working across cross‑functional teams and influencing stakeholders.
• Proficiency with Excel (including VBA, pivot tables, array functions, Power Pivot) and data visualization tools such as Tableau.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel (VBA, pivot tables, array functions, Power Pivot).
• Tableau for data visualization.
• SQL data manipulation (preferred).
• Lean or Six Sigma analytical techniques (preferred).
