About the role

We are looking for a qualified pharmacist to join our team in San Vicente de Moravia, Costa Rica. The professional will actively participate in the preparation, review, and quality control of magistral (custom) pharmaceutical preparations, rotating between compounding and QC tasks according to the department schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Review prescriptions, calculations, and compounding orders before preparation.
• Verify technical feasibility of formulations, concentrations, dosages, and dosage forms.
• Apply master formulas and current standard operating procedures.
• Provide technical support and clarification to prescribers when needed.
• Conduct pharmaceutical review and established controls on finished preparations.
• Ensure proper documentation, traceability, labeling, presentation, and storage conditions.
• Approve, retain, or reject preparations according to procedures and professional responsibility.
• Identify, document, and follow up on deviations, non‑conformities, and quality complaints.
• Participate in the development and updating of procedures, master formulas, and technical documentation.
• Support training programs, environmental monitoring, equipment maintenance, and other quality‑system activities.

Required profile

• Pharmacy degree and registration with the Colegio de Farmacéuticos de Costa Rica.
• Experience in magistral preparations, pharmaceutical production, or quality control is desirable.
• Knowledge of good practices, documentation, and pharmaceutical procedures.
• Ability to perform and review pharmaceutical calculations.
• Proficiency with computer tools.
• Availability for onsite work in San Vicente de Moravia.
