Facilities Specialist

About the role

Zimmer Biomet is seeking a Facilities Specialist to lead design, planning, and maintenance of plant engineering systems supporting its medical‑technology manufacturing operations. The role ensures compliance with regulations, timely project delivery, and optimal performance of mechanical, electrical, water and environmental controls.

Key responsibilities

• Develop designs, specifications, cost estimates and schedules for construction, expansion, and re‑layout projects on the manufacturing floor.
• Coordinate with Manufacturing/Process Engineering, floor personnel and business management to align work schedules with production needs.
• Supervise and inspect work in progress, ensuring adherence to specifications and quality standards.
• Interact with vendors to procure equipment, materials and services for new and ongoing projects.
• Maintain mechanical, water, environmental and electrical control systems and implement a preventative maintenance program.
• Act as liaison with local regulators on fire safety, security, wastewater treatment, utilities and occupational safety.

Required profile

• Experience with plant engineering systems such as electrical distribution, compressed air, purified water, HVAC and PLCs.
• Hands‑on background in design, construction, installation and performance verification of plant equipment.
• Knowledge of preventive and predictive (condition‑monitoring) maintenance methodologies.
• Familiarity with validated processes for manufacturing equipment.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally with engineering, production and regulatory teams.
