Encargado/a de Salud Ocupacional

About the role

The Occupational Health Manager is responsible for administering, designing and planning occupational health programs aimed at preventing accidents and work‑related illnesses. The role ensures compliance with current legal regulations and supports a safe workplace environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement occupational health policies, manuals and protocols.
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of health programs to reduce workplace incidents.
• Ensure all activities comply with national occupational health legislation.
• Coordinate medical surveillance, risk assessments and preventive actions.
• Provide guidance and training to staff on health and safety matters.

Required profile

• University degree in Occupational Health.
• Minimum three (3) years of experience in a similar occupational health position.
• Valid B1 driver’s license.
• Willingness to work in La Uruca and travel within Costa Rica as needed.
• Preferably intermediate proficiency in English.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and internet research.
