Electronic Technician (Level 3)

About the role

Softtek is seeking an experienced Electronic Technician (Level 3) to lead the installation, assembly, and integration of advanced hardware platforms and high‑density test‑rack environments at its San José facility.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the installation, assembly, structured cabling, and integration of advanced hardware platforms and high‑density test rack environments.
• Configure, install, and support liquid‑cooling systems and related laboratory infrastructure.
• Perform advanced hardware and software troubleshooting, root‑cause analysis, and repair activities.
• Diagnose failures involving processors, memory modules, firmware, operating systems, and add‑in cards.
• Execute and validate engineering test plans and technical procedures.
• Document incidents, failures, and corrective actions using ticketing tools.

Required profile

• Technical Diploma or Associate Degree in Electronics, Electromechanics, Mechatronics, Mechanical Technology, or a closely related field.
• 5+ years of proven experience in hardware/software installation, advanced troubleshooting, and repair of electronic, electromechanical, or computer systems.
• Strong experience assembling, installing, and integrating hardware systems, including high‑density test racks and structured cabling.
• Hands‑on experience with liquid‑cooling system installation and integration.
• Ability to work onsite in San José, Costa Rica.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, organizational, and communication skills.

Required skills

• Reading and interpreting complex electrical and electronic schematics.
• Configuring, calibrating, and operating test and measurement equipment (oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, thermal probes, power supplies, data acquisition systems).
• Advanced troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis across hardware and software environments.
• Executing engineering test plans and technical procedures.
• Documenting incidents and corrective actions in ticketing systems.
• Inventory management and material tracking.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
