Electrical Design Engineer – Renewable Arc Flash Studies

About the role

Ulteig is seeking a motivated Electrical Design Engineer to perform Arc Flash and short‑circuit studies for renewable energy projects, including wind, solar and battery energy storage systems. The role involves using industry‑standard tools and Python scripting to deliver high‑quality analysis in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct short‑circuit and Arc Flash studies using ETAP, EasyPower, SKM and ArcPro.
• Provide technical support to wind, solar and BESS generator owners.
• Develop Python scripts to automate and streamline study processes.
• Manage individual workload independently while collaborating with the team.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (ABET‑accredited or equivalent).
• Minimum 2 years of professional experience, with at least 1 year in power‑systems and Arc Flash analysis.
• EIT status or working toward EIT certification.
• Strong analytical mindset, self‑starter attitude and ability to work in a fast‑paced setting.
• Excellent verbal and written English communication (CEFR B2‑C1).
• Legal authorization to work in Costa Rica.
