Director, Clinical Operations – Project Management Office (Hybrid)

About the role

The Director of the Project Management Office (PMO) for Clinical Operations leads governance and oversight of the Global Data Management & Standards (GDMS) strategic project portfolio. Reporting to the Head of GDMS Business Operations, the role ensures initiatives are prioritized, planned, and executed in line with organizational goals, delivering transparency and discipline across the portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Define, maintain, and implement the PMO framework, including intake, business case development, prioritization, planning, execution oversight, and risk management.
• Govern the GDMS project book of work, sequencing efforts, managing cross‑vertical dependencies, and aligning resources with strategic priorities.
• Provide portfolio‑level oversight through executive dashboards, program reviews, and performance reporting.
• Collaborate with initiative sponsors and leads to ensure efficient resource use and measurable value realization.
• Maintain and continuously improve the GDMS Business Continuity Plan, applying a standard framework with regular testing.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in clinical trial operations and data management.
• Proven track record of leading large‑scale PMO functions in a global, matrixed environment.
• Strong stakeholder partnership skills across GDMS and Global Clinical Trial Operations.
• Ability to translate strategic priorities into actionable project plans and governance structures.
