Supervisor – Quality Systems (Documentation Center)

About the role

AbbVie is seeking a Supervisor for the Quality Systems Documentation Center in Heredia, Costa Rica. The role leads the Document Control Department, ensuring compliance with corporate and regulatory standards while supporting the lifecycle of medical product documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the Document Control team to meet Quality System and regulatory requirements.
• Manage custody, filing, retrieval, distribution, and traceability of controlled documents, including change control processes.
• Oversee preparation for internal and external audits, and drive timely closure of findings and CAPAs.
• Monitor departmental metrics, identify improvement opportunities, and implement continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Coordinate implementation and use of manual and electronic documentation and training systems.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEAM‑related field; master’s degree preferred.
• Advanced English proficiency (C1 level or higher).
• 3+ years of experience in quality systems, compliance, risk management, and change control within a regulated environment (ISO 13485 preferred).
• Proven ability to lead cross‑functional teams and manage projects.

Required skills

• Experience with electronic documentation systems such as SAP, OneVault, Salesforce, Arena, or Windchill.
• Strong analytical, communication, and negotiation abilities.
