Development Engineer - Renewables

About the role

Ulteig is seeking a Development Engineer to support utility‑scale solar, wind and battery projects. The role works closely with civil, structural, electrical and high‑voltage design teams as well as clients, delivering innovative early‑stage design solutions for renewable facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Apply standard engineering techniques to complete tasks and support multidisciplinary design workflows.
• Develop accurate plans, details and reports aligned with utility‑scale renewable development practices.
• Guide engineering technicians and design engineers, reviewing their work for quality and constructability.
• Engage with clients to understand priorities, plan project goals and exceed expectations.
• Perform design checks, value engineering and risk assessments to ensure safety and feasibility.
• Collaborate across markets and technical disciplines, supporting business development activities.

Required profile

• B.S. in Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering; must be incorporated to CFI.
• 4‑6+ years of engineering experience, including at least 3 years in utility‑scale renewable design.
• Legal authorization to work in Costa Rica.

Required skills

• Proficiency with AutoCAD or Civil 3D.
• Experience with PVFarm, SAM, GIS/ESRI, PVProspect or similar industry software (preferred).
• Strong command of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
