About the role

The Flight Dispatcher in Costa Rica is responsible for receiving, reviewing and executing aircraft loading provided by airlines, ensuring that operational limits are respected, providing crews with meteorological information and assisting them at all times. The role acts as the communication link between the Operations Control Center (OCC) and the captain to prevent any operational inconvenience.

Key responsibilities

• Send and acknowledge SITA system messages, including service requests.
• Fax messages to General Management when required and archive airline communications.
• Attach sealed General Desk copies to crew files and flight records as needed.
• Prepare charter flight paperwork (pass‑and‑safe, Cocesna, flight plan, meteorological folder, etc.).
• Deliver landing‑rights formulas to the appropriate offices and attach them to the flight protection documents.
• Monitor the SITA system for unanswered messages and respond immediately.
• Complete all departure documentation and record flight details (flight number, arrival/departure times, incidents) in the electronic flight sheet.
• Maintain radio communication with aircraft and provide crews with requested information (weather, bridge, ramp, terminal assignments).
• Apply company operational manuals, aviation authority regulations, ICAO procedures and IATA rules.
• Prepare airline flight plans and related paperwork, and send payload (payload) estimates to clients upon request.
• Archive each flight file for the mandated 90‑day period.

Required profile

• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow strict aviation regulations.
• Effective communication skills with flight crews and OCC personnel.
• Capability to work in shifts and handle multiple documentation tasks simultaneously.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the SITA messaging system.
• Flight planning and payload estimation.
• Knowledge of ICAO procedures.
• Knowledge of IATA regulations.
• Experience handling aircraft loading documentation and related paperwork.
