Data Engineer – Hybrid Platform Support

About the role

Equifax is looking for a motivated Data/Platform Engineer to join our cloud team. You will split your time between building robust data pipelines on Google Cloud Platform and developing Python‑based web components that enable data access and visualization.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain data integrations from multiple source systems into GCP.
• Build and enhance web application components and APIs using Python (Django or similar), covering both backend and frontend tasks.
• Optimize BigQuery queries for efficient ETL/ELT and analytical workloads.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to translate data requirements into effective models and solutions.
• Monitor GCP infrastructure health with Datadog and respond to alerts via PagerDuty.
• Use Git for version control and participate in CI/CD pipelines for data pipeline deployments.
• Stay up‑to‑date with best practices in data integration, BigQuery performance, and cloud data quality.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT or a related field.
• 3+ years of data engineering experience with strong Python and SQL skills.
• 2+ years of experience developing web applications with Python frameworks such as Django.
• 2+ years of hands‑on experience with GCP (or AWS) for data engineering tasks.
• 1+ years of experience with monitoring tools (Datadog, GCP Cloud Monitoring) and incident platforms (PagerDuty).
