Controller – Future CFO Track (Nosara/Remote)

About the role

Shift Living is seeking a Controller who will serve as the first step on a future CFO track. Based in Nosara, Costa Rica, the role blends traditional controller responsibilities with strategic finance leadership for a regenerative real‑estate development platform.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable financial systems and reporting processes.
• Oversee treasury, capital planning, and investor reporting across development and hospitality operations.
• Collaborate with executive leadership on strategic decision‑making and financial modeling.
• Manage budgeting, forecasting, and month‑end close for multiple project streams.
• Support the preparation of financial statements and compliance documentation.

Required profile

• Proven experience in controller or senior finance roles, preferably in real‑estate or hospitality.
• Demonstrated ability to work cross‑functionally with developers, investors, and operations teams.
• Ambition to grow into a CFO position as the company expands.
• Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail.
