About the role

The Inter-American Development Bank (Grupo BID) seeks a consultant to strengthen the management of transport projects in Costa Rica. The role supports the Transport Division (TSP) in overseeing infrastructure works, monitoring risks, and ensuring compliance with the Bank's environmental and social policies.

Key responsibilities

• Assist executing units in improving project management and ensuring timely, high‑quality information flow with the Bank.
• Prepare contractual documents, operational plans, periodic reports, and Terms of Reference for consultancy selections.
• Participate in supervision missions, track construction progress, and verify adherence to environmental and social standards.
• Support the drafting of results‑review reports, technical updates, and documentation for Technical Cooperation (CT) initiatives.
• Coordinate and monitor consultancy deliverables linked to new CTs and loan operations.
• Collect, analyse, and present technical data, reports, presentations, and databases for knowledge sharing.

Required profile

• Experience in transport infrastructure project monitoring, risk assessment, and contract management.
• Familiarity with international development bank procedures and environmental/social compliance.
• Strong analytical and reporting skills, with ability to work across multidisciplinary teams.
