About the role

PwC is looking for a Payroll Consultant to join its Tax Services team in San José. The role supports clients with payroll‑related tax compliance, preparation of payroll tax provisions and reviews, ensuring adherence to local legislation.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review payroll tax provisions, returns and related financial statements for a portfolio of clients.
• Verify compliance with Costa Rican payroll legislation and PwC’s internal tax and audit guidance.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to gather payroll data, analyse trends and identify optimisation opportunities.
• Assist clients in interpreting payroll tax regulations and implementing best practices.
• Maintain accurate documentation and support audit processes as required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration or Human Resources.
• Strong knowledge of local payroll legislation and tax compliance.
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a team‑oriented environment.
• Fluent in Spanish; English proficiency is desirable.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
