Collections Specialist – Hard Collections (On-site)

About the role

Spartan Capital is looking for a results‑driven Collections Specialist to join its La Sabana office in San José, Costa Rica. The role focuses on hard collections, handling delinquent accounts with professionalism, empathy, and a strong analytical mindset.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of delinquent accounts through outbound calls, emails, and other communication channels.
• Negotiate payment plans and settlements while ensuring compliance with company policies.
• Handle escalated or high‑balance cases efficiently and confidently.
• Track, monitor, and update account activity in the CRM system.
• Identify opportunities to improve collection strategies and internal processes.
• Collaborate with management to develop and implement process improvements.
• Provide consistent follow‑up and documentation to ensure accuracy and accountability.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of proven experience in hard collections.
• Fluent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong negotiation and conflict‑resolution abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple accounts effectively.
• High level of professionalism, integrity, and attention to detail.
