Cocinero/a – Preparación de alimentos

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated cook to prepare meals for a corporate cafeteria in La Uruca, San José. The successful candidate will use a variety of cooking techniques and equipment while maintaining high standards of quality, presentation and organization.

Key responsibilities

• Review daily order tickets and prepare assigned meals.
• Perform pre‑preparation, assembly and forecasting of food demand for upcoming days.
• Ensure the highest standards of food safety and hygiene are applied at all times.
• Carry out labeling and storage controls as required.
• Maintain cleanliness and order of workstations and kitchen equipment.
• Renew and keep a valid food‑handling certification.
• Perform any additional duties assigned by the supervisor.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years experience as a cook in corporate or institutional cafeterias.
• Valid food‑handling permit.
• Knowledge of food hygiene and safety regulations.
• Availability to work either 4 am–12 pm or 6 am–2 pm shifts.
• Immediate availability and ability to commute to La Uruca, San José.
• Ability to work in a team, take initiative and perform under pressure.
