Cloud Architect – Microsoft Azure (Remote)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Cloud Architect specialized in Microsoft Azure to design, implement and optimise secure, scalable and cost‑effective cloud solutions for our customers. The role is fully remote and offered on a contract basis.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement Azure IaaS and PaaS architectures, including virtual networks, VPN, ExpressRoute and related services.
• Provide architecture consulting, governance guidance and best‑practice recommendations.
• Conduct architecture reviews, produce technical documentation and develop migration, disaster‑recovery and implementation roadmaps.
• Assist with cloud service vetting, risk assessments and cost‑optimization initiatives.
• Troubleshoot complex Azure infrastructure and platform issues and develop proof‑of‑concepts for emerging technologies.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and support customer cloud transformation projects.

Required profile

• 8+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure or architecture.
• Strong hands‑on expertise with Microsoft Azure services and migrations.
• Proven experience in governance, security and disaster‑recovery design.
• Excellent communication, documentation and stakeholder‑management abilities.

Required skills

• Microsoft Azure (IaaS, PaaS, networking, security, DR).
• Azure Virtual Networks, VPN, ExpressRoute, Site Recovery, Azure SQL, App Services, Application Gateway, CDN, Microsoft Entra ID.
• ARM/JSON templates, PowerShell, Visual Studio.
• Windows Server administration, Linux.
• Automation tools such as Chef or Puppet (optional).
• Knowledge of Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, Intune.
