Cloud Architect (Azure) – Remote

About the role
We are looking for an experienced Cloud Architect specialized in Microsoft Azure to lead the design, migration, and optimization of our cloud environment. This fully remote position allows you to work from anywhere in Costa Rica while collaborating with global stakeholders.
Key responsibilities
- Provide architecture guidance, governance, and technical documentation for Azure solutions.
- Conduct architecture reviews, support cloud migrations, and drive modernization initiatives.
- Resolve complex infrastructure issues and develop proof‑of‑concepts for innovative cloud services.
- Lead cost‑optimization and operational‑excellence programs.
- Design scalable, secure, and highly available Azure environments.
- Improve reliability, availability, and performance across cloud platforms.
Required profile
- 8+ years of cloud architecture and infrastructure experience.
- Strong expertise in Microsoft Azure (IaaS & PaaS) and Azure networking (VNET, VPN, ExpressRoute, Site Recovery).
- Experience with cloud governance, architecture reviews, migrations, and cost‑optimization.
- Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and stakeholder communication skills.
- Preferred certifications: AZ‑104, AZ‑305.
Required skills
- Microsoft Azure services (Azure SQL, Web Apps, Application Gateway, CDN, Azure AD).
- PowerShell scripting and JSON ARM templates.
- Linux and Windows Server administration.
- Configuration management tools: Chef, Puppet.
- Office 365, Exchange Online, Intune.
