Billing Analyst – Legal Operations (Escazú, Costa Rica)

About the role

Boston Scientific is seeking a detail‑oriented Billing Analyst to join its Legal & Global Compliance team in Escazú, Costa Rica. The analyst will support attorneys, finance partners and external counsel by ensuring accurate invoicing, managing accruals and maintaining high‑quality billing data.

Key responsibilities

• Review and process outside‑counsel invoices for accuracy, compliance with billing guidelines and budget adherence.
• Analyze invoice discrepancies, communicate with law firms and resolve billing issues promptly.
• Set up and maintain legal matters in the e‑billing and matter‑management system, ensuring data integrity.
• Partner with internal attorneys and Legal Operations to support matter management, invoice approvals and budget tracking.
• Assist with monthly and quarterly reporting on legal expenses, accruals and budget performance.
• Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and data quality.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Legal Studies or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in billing, accounts payable, finance, legal operations or a similar analytical role.
• Strong analytical, organizational and problem‑solving abilities with exceptional attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for collaboration with attorneys, law firms and cross‑functional partners.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience with legal e‑billing and matter‑management systems (e.g., Legal Tracker, TeamConnect, CounselLink, Brightflag or similar).
• Familiarity with SAP or other enterprise financial systems (preferred).
