Backend Engineer, Node.js/Typescript

About the role

Deel is looking for a Backend Engineer to help build and scale its global payroll and HR platform. You will work on core services that power the experience for millions of users worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with Frontend Engineers, Product, Designers, and QA to deliver seamless features.
• Participate in product planning from discovery through deployment.
• Design, develop, and maintain robust APIs and backend services using Node.js and TypeScript.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve bugs quickly (“Deel Speed”).
• Ensure high‑quality, customer‑centric delivery through rigorous engineering practices.

Required profile

• Strong expertise in backend development with Node.js and TypeScript/JavaScript best practices.
• Experience with at least one additional server‑side language.
• Solid understanding of relational databases and SQL.
