Associate, Controls Assurance & Advisory

About the role

The Controls Assurance & Advisory SOX Associate supports Bacardi’s Sarbanes‑Oxley compliance program by testing controls and assessing business‑process risks across financial systems. You will collaborate with internal teams, external auditors and other stakeholders to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and the company’s internal control framework.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, execute and document SOX testing activities focused on business‑process controls.
• Perform detailed testing of business‑process and application controls, identifying deficiencies and improvement opportunities.
• Coordinate with process owners and external auditors to support timely and accurate testing.
• Maintain organized documentation of testing results and conclusions.
• Monitor remediation efforts and conduct follow‑up testing on identified deficiencies.
• Stay updated on emerging financial risks, audit trends and regulatory changes affecting SOX compliance.
• Support ad‑hoc internal audit projects and ITGC SOX testing as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• 1‑3 years of experience in external audit, SOX compliance or internal controls (public accounting or internal audit preferred).
• Strong analytical, organizational and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Detail‑oriented with a critical‑thinking mindset.
• Progress toward CPA, CISA, CIA or similar certification is a plus.
