Assistant Manager - Indirect Tax (LATAM)

About the role

KPMG Delivery Network (KDN) is looking for an Assistant Manager (Indirect Tax Supervisor) to lead the end-to-end management of tax return processes for LATAM clients, from data gathering, preparation and review through client approval, filing and payment follow-up. The role supervises the team and improves productivity, service, control and compliance by simplifying, standardizing and consolidating processes.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the end-to-end LATAM tax compliance process, including preparation, review, approval and timely filing of tax returns.
• Own and monitor the tax compliance calendar, escalate risks proactively and ensure filing and payment deadlines are met.
• Perform the final review of tax returns and supporting workpapers before client approval, ensuring accuracy and consistency with local regulations.
• Act as main point of contact with clients, KPMG member firms and internal stakeholders for status updates, approvals and escalations.
• Lead root cause analyses for errors, late filings or corrective returns and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Monitor KPIs and service levels (timeliness, quality, rework) and report process status to management.
• Coordinate onboarding, transitions and knowledge transfer for new clients, countries and team members.
• Define controls mechanisms, review and maintain the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and ensure compliance with accounting and fiscal activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field.
• Intermediate to advanced English (B1+/B2).
• 5+ years working on tax, finance and statutory accounting processes in a shared service center or professional services firm, preferably Big Four.
• 1+ year as a senior or leader in LATAM tax compliance, including preparation and review of tax returns.

Required skills

• Strong business applications skills (MS Office).
• Knowledge of LATAM tax regulations and indirect taxes.
