Art Director

About the role

VML, part of WPP, is seeking an experienced Art Director to lead its highly talented art department. The role involves shaping visual strategy for a portfolio of blue‑chip clients and ensuring the delivery of award‑winning creative work.

Key responsibilities

• Hire, train, assign, schedule and mentor designers within the art department.
• Set and maintain standards for production quality, productivity and client service.
• Monitor adherence to existing processes, identify improvement opportunities and develop new tools to support design operations.
• Align creative priorities with business objectives and client goals.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure seamless execution of campaigns.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing and inspiring design teams.
• Strong artistic eye with a deep understanding of brand and marketing communication.
• Ability to balance creative vision with business and client requirements.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
