AI Engineer – Remote

About the role

Lumenalta is looking for an experienced AI Engineer to join a high‑growth fintech client focused on back‑office workflow automation. You will design, build and ship production‑grade AI models that power intelligent automation for community banks, mortgage and insurance institutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and deploy AI models into production environments.
• Build and maintain backend Python services that drive intelligent automation workflows.
• Create enterprise‑scale data pipelines for ingesting and processing financial and regulatory documents, including automated quality checks and monitoring.
• Train and optimise models on banking rules, compliance standards and regulatory datasets.
• Develop intelligent routing systems (e.g., auto‑approval for simple loans, escalation for complex cases).
• Collaborate with engineering leadership to shape architecture, delivery models and technology stack decisions.
• Embed compliance‑first design principles into every product feature.

Required profile

• 3–5+ years of AI/ML engineering experience with a proven track record of deploying models at scale.
• Background in enterprise applications such as chatbots, workflow automation, RAG pipelines or intelligent document processing.
• Familiarity with regulated industries (financial services, insurance) and ability to design compliance‑aligned solutions.
• Comfort working in a lean, high‑performing team and influencing technical direction.
• Adaptability to fast‑changing, startup‑like environments.

Required skills

• Strong backend Python development.
• Experience with ML frameworks: TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit‑Learn.
• Proficiency with data pipeline tools: Airflow, Spark, Kafka.
• Knowledge of workflow orchestration frameworks such as n8n or LangGraph.
