AI Engineer – Remote (Fintech Automation)

About the role

Lumenalta is looking for an experienced AI Engineer to join a high‑growth fintech client focused on back‑office workflow automation for community banks, mortgage and insurance firms. You will design, build and ship production‑grade AI systems that automate document processing, compliance checks and intelligent routing.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and deploy AI models into production environments.
• Create and maintain backend Python services that power intelligent automation workflows.
• Build enterprise‑scale data pipelines for ingesting financial and regulatory documents, including automated quality checks and monitoring.
• Train and optimise models on banking rules, compliance standards and regulatory datasets.
• Develop intelligent routing mechanisms for auto‑approval of simple cases and escalation of complex ones.
• Collaborate with engineering leadership to shape architecture, delivery models and technology stack decisions.
• Embed regulatory and compliance considerations into every product feature.

Required profile

• 3–5+ years of AI/ML engineering experience with proven production deployments.
• Experience in regulated industries such as financial services or insurance.
• Ability to work in a lean, high‑performing team and influence technical direction.
• Comfortable in fast‑moving, startup‑like environments with evolving tech stacks.

Required skills

• Strong backend Python development.
• Proficiency with ML frameworks: TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit‑Learn.
• Familiarity with data pipeline tools: Airflow, Spark, Kafka.
• Experience with workflow orchestration platforms such as n8n or LangGraph.
