AI Engineer

About the role

Kyndryl is seeking an AI Engineer to design, develop, and implement cutting‑edge AI‑driven software solutions. You will work within the Software Engineering – Development team, delivering value to customers through scalable APIs, micro‑services, and AI workflows.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement AI components using design documentation and functional specifications.
• Develop, unit‑test, and document scalable APIs, micro‑services, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Architect enterprise AI workflows, multi‑agent systems, and integration with vector databases and embeddings.
• Provide work estimates, guide feature development, and mentor cross‑functional teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of software engineering experience, including AI application development (LLMs, RAG).
• Growth mindset, customer‑focused, and inclusive collaboration style.

Required skills

• Strong Python and backend development expertise.
• Experience with LLMs, Retrieval‑Augmented Generation, tool/function calling.
• Knowledge of vector databases, embeddings, semantic search, ingestion pipelines.
• Hands‑on with agent frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, Semantic Kernel, Google ADK.
• Proficiency in Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Security knowledge: OAuth2/OIDC, JWT, RBAC, API security, encryption, OWASP LLM Top 10.
• AI monitoring, prompt testing, cost optimization, performance tracking.
