AI Automation Engineer

About the role

Databricks is seeking an AI Automation Engineer to design and operate next‑generation IT automation services that enhance employee experiences. You will build production‑grade AI agents that understand natural‑language requests, retrieve enterprise context, and safely execute actions across systems.

Key responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and run AI agents that interpret requests, gather context, select tools, and communicate outcomes.
• Maintain MCP servers and create shared automation infrastructure such as credential vaults, event ingestion pipelines, and approval workflows.
• Transform high‑volume support interactions into self‑service AI experiences, handling failures, human approvals, and audit trails.
• Collaborate with IT Support, Security, IAM, and Engineering to move prototypes to production and document system designs.

Required profile

• Proficiency in Python and experience with Git‑based development, CI/CD, and automated testing.
• Strong background in REST APIs, OAuth2, event‑driven integrations, and enterprise system integration.
• Hands‑on experience delivering production LLM‑powered applications or AI agents.
• Understanding of LLM failure modes and ability to implement safety, privacy, and least‑privilege controls.
