AI and Transport Digital Transformation Consultant

About the role

The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) seeks a consultant to drive AI and digital transformation initiatives within its Transport Division. You will work with internal teams and external partners to embed emerging digital technologies into transport planning, financing, and operations across Latin America and the Caribbean.

Key responsibilities

• Support the implementation of the division’s AI and digital transformation strategy, coordinating planning, execution, and monitoring of related projects.
• Design and deliver training workshops, learning sessions, and practical guidance to raise AI and digital literacy among transport staff.
• Identify, assess, and disseminate emerging technologies, best practices, tools, and use cases such as intelligent transport systems, digital twins, and mobility data platforms.
• Develop knowledge products, sector studies, case studies, analytical reports, presentations, briefing notes, and internal communications on AI and digital transformation in transport.
• Identify opportunities to integrate AI and digital components into sovereign‑guaranteed loans, technical cooperation operations, and advisory activities.
• Assist with the administration, monitoring, and reporting of digital transformation initiatives across the division.

Required profile

• Proven experience in AI, digital transformation, or related fields applied to transport or infrastructure sectors.
• Strong ability to work with multidisciplinary teams, government agencies, and private stakeholders.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills to produce high‑quality knowledge products.
