Accounting Assistant

About the role

Avionyx S.A., a software engineering services company based in Heredia, Costa Rica and fully owned by Joby Aviation, is looking for an Accounting Assistant. The role supports the Finance department across general accounting functions such as bookkeeping, journal entries, account reconciliations, month-end closing, financial reporting and compliance, and also helps with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, Treasury and other finance activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field; a Licentiate's degree is preferred.
• Experience working in companies operating under Free Trade Zone regulations.
• Knowledge of Costa Rican tax regulations and local accounting requirements.
• English proficiency at B2+ level (C1 preferred).

Required skills

• Complete accounting cycle: journal entries, reconciliations, month-end close and financial reporting.
• Working knowledge of IFRS (NIIF) and IAS (NIC) standards.
• Experience with accounting software and ERP systems.
• Intermediate Microsoft Excel, including data analysis, formulas and reporting; advanced Excel preferred.
• Familiarity with Costa Rican electronic invoicing and VAT regulations.
• Preferred: experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
