Accountant (Remote)

About the role

Jitasa is seeking a remote Accountant to provide bookkeeping, reporting and compliance support for nonprofit organizations across the United States. You will work from home, helping clients maintain financial transparency and accountability to donors and stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable entries.
• Prepare payroll and end‑of‑month journal entries.
• Perform bank reconciliations and maintain the chart of accounts.
• Prepare financial statements and assist with audit schedule preparation.
• Conduct monthly book reviews and follow up on missing data.
• Communicate with clients to resolve accounting queries.

Required skills

• Experience with cloud‑based accounting systems.

• Knowledge of financial statement preparation and 1099 filing.
