Accountant

About the role

The Accountant will support the Controller in maintaining accurate accounting records, managing inventory reserves, performing general ledger reconciliations, and delivering various financial reports. This position works closely with U.S.-based Finance and Accounting teams to ensure compliance with US GAAP and timely month‑end and quarter‑end close activities.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and process accounts payable vouchers, monitor the AP inbox, and propose weekly payment runs.
• Execute month‑end close tasks including account reconciliations, standard journal entries (prepaids, bonuses, accruals, ASC 842 rent entries), and P‑card journal uploads.
• Manage accounts receivable: invoice processing, cash application, credit limit verification, collection activities, and sub‑ledger reconciliation.
• Reconcile daily cash, initiate bank payments, and maintain supporting documentation.
• Track fixed‑asset activity, reconcile asset accounts, record depreciation, and assess capitalisation of expenditures.
• Record payroll and payroll‑tax journal entries, prepare payroll accruals for the Costa Rica entity, and maintain employee data in the ERP system.
• Maintain inventory reserves, process related journal entries, and collaborate with operations leadership on cost accounting.

Required profile

• Proven experience in core accounting functions such as AP, AR, month‑end close, and fixed‑asset accounting.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and related reporting standards.
• Familiarity with ERP systems and ability to record and reconcile journal entries accurately.
• Detail‑oriented with the capacity to work collaboratively across finance teams.
