Accountant – Finance & Accounting (Hybrid)

About the role

This role safeguards the accuracy and compliance of Duracell's financial close, ensuring timely, controlled reporting that leadership and stakeholders can rely on. It owns core close activities such as journal entries, cash position, reconciliations, and fluctuation analysis while adhering to internal compliance and strengthening internal controls. The position also drives process improvement, including AI adoption, to modernize the close cycle.

Key responsibilities

• Perform monthly and quarterly financial close activities, including preparation of month‑end journal entries and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Examine trial balances and transaction details to identify and resolve issues, developing a deep understanding of the business.
• Analyze balance‑sheet and income‑statement fluctuations and support accruals, reclassifications, reserves, tax processes, inventories, and cash reconciliations.
• Ensure compliance with Duracell’s Standard Practice Instructions, Sarbanes‑Oxley controls, and FCPA, and establish new controls as needed.
• Drive process improvements and AI adoption to modernize the close cycle.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
• At least 5 years of experience in accounting, including month‑end and quarter‑end close, journal entries and reconciliations.
• Proven experience with SAP and Blackline.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and internal control frameworks.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Willingness to work extended hours during peak periods.
