Water Resources Design Engineer

About the role

Ulteig is seeking a Water Resources Design Engineer to join its Energy Solutions Department. The position focuses on hydrologic and hydraulic engineering for renewable energy projects, applying advanced modeling tools and delivering sustainable stormwater solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Apply standard engineering techniques and support civil/structural design workflows as needed.
• Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses using HEC‑RAS 2D, FLO‑2D, and InfoWorks ICM.
• Conduct sediment transport and scour calculations to protect project integrity.
• Develop complete plans, specifications, and observation reports in line with industry practices.
• Resolve design challenges through field investigations and data reconciliation.
• Execute stormwater management design computations for renewable projects.
• Maintain a value‑engineering mindset throughout design and construction phases.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and clients to deliver feasible solutions.

Required profile

• B.S. in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• 1‑3+ years of civil engineering experience.
• Strong understanding of hydrologic and hydraulic principles for rural and urban drainage.
• Familiarity with erosion, sediment control, and temporary stormwater treatment techniques.
• Excellent analytical abilities and communication skills.
