Trade & International Transportation Operations Lead

About the role

Johnson & Johnson is seeking a Trade and International Transportation Operations Lead to establish and maintain robust controls for global transportation and trade activities at its new medical‑devices manufacturing site in Costa Rica. The role focuses on ensuring best‑in‑class import and export processes within the Free Trade Zone and supporting transportation flows to global markets.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement controls for all import and export activities, from purchase order receipt through customs clearance to final warehouse delivery.
• Ensure compliance with local Free Trade Zone regulations, tariff classification, import permits, certification of origin, and J&J policies.
• Oversee logistics providers and manage transportation flows to support global market demand.
• Drive operational excellence, optimize spending controls, and align trade and transportation processes with business strategy and regulatory standards.
• Manage multi‑franchise complexities and coordinate with internal stakeholders to maintain seamless operations.

Required profile

• Proven experience in import/export operations within a Free Trade Zone environment.
• Strong knowledge of trade compliance, tariff classification, and certification of origin requirements.
• Experience overseeing logistics providers and transportation flows for a manufacturing site.
• Ability to design and enforce operational controls that meet corporate and regulatory standards.
