Supply Chain Project Manager

About the role

Join Akamai’s Supply Chain Management Team to support the global infrastructure that powers our edge network. The role focuses on server procurement, planning, buying, and comprehensive asset management for network servers.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain procurement relationships with server vendors, provide feedback for vendor scorecards, and participate in quarterly business reviews.
• Participate in cross‑functional meetings to align procurement decisions with short‑term and long‑term strategies.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Design, Program Management, and Planning to integrate new products while managing roadmap risk and outdated inventory.
• Address material shortages and unexpected conditions, working with business groups to understand component impacts.
• Monitor pending deployments and suggest inter‑warehouse transfers, project sequencing, or equipment substitutions to optimize timeliness and cost.
• Research, track, and resolve supply issues quickly by coordinating with vendors for timely, cost‑effective solutions.

Required profile

• 2+ years of experience in forecasting or procurement.
• High School Diploma or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Strong analytical abilities in financial and operational contexts.
• Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and intercultural communication skills.
