Software Engineer – Java (Level IV) – Remote

About the role

We are looking for a senior Java Engineer (Level IV) to join our Costa Rica remote team. You will design, build, and maintain high‑quality, scalable software solutions that power our AI‑native platform.

Key responsibilities

• Design and evaluate features, provide feedback, and influence quality standards.
• Identify performance bottlenecks, optimise solutions, and ensure robust architecture.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and business stakeholders to translate needs into functional requirements.
• Mentor junior developers, drive code reviews, and uphold high standards for testing and automation.
• Monitor production systems (PagerDuty), support incident resolution, and promote a DevOps mindset.
• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure, and monitoring/alerting tools.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of professional software development experience with Java and Spring.
• Proven experience with RESTful APIs, micro‑services, system design, scaling, and performance testing.
• Hands‑on experience with AWS services and SQL/NoSQL databases.
• Familiarity with cloud‑native technologies, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
