Software Engineer – Java (Level III) – Remote

About the role

CONSULTFIZ LATAM is seeking an experienced Java Engineer to join its remote team in Costa Rica. You will work on enterprise‑level backend services, contributing to the design, development, and maintenance of scalable, fault‑tolerant systems.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Java‑based microservices and APIs using Spring Boot.
• Collaborate on system architecture to ensure security, scalability, and high availability.
• Work with SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (DynamoDB, MongoDB) databases to optimise data storage and queries.
• Participate in Kafka event‑streaming design, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
• Implement and support CI/CD pipelines with GitLab or GitHub, automating build, test, and deployment processes.
• Assist senior engineers in building AWS backend solutions (S3, Lambda, RDS) and provide production support, including incident response and root‑cause analysis.

Required profile

• 5‑7+ years of professional software development experience, primarily in Java.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
• Willingness to learn, participate in on‑call rotations, and grow under mentorship.
