Senior Software Engineer – Java & Database Development

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer who will design, develop, and maintain reliable Java‑based applications and relational database solutions. You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver scalable software that meets business needs while continuously improving performance and quality.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, test, and maintain Java applications supporting core business operations.
• Create and optimise database objects such as tables, views, and stored procedures.
• Write clean, efficient, well‑documented code following industry best practices.
• Troubleshoot issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
• Work closely with stakeholders to refine requirements and ensure alignment.
• Participate in code reviews, system improvements, and performance optimisation initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of professional experience developing Java applications (Java 8 or higher preferred).
• Strong knowledge of relational databases and SQL, including query writing and optimisation.
• Familiarity with ORM frameworks such as Hibernate or JPA.
• Experience with version control (Git) and build tools (Maven).
• Excellent problem‑solving abilities and a collaborative mindset in an Agile environment.
