Senior Software Engineer (AI-First)

About the role

Publicis Sapient is looking for a Senior Software Engineer (AI-First) who combines cloud-native development with next-generation AI tooling. You will join a global team building scalable, secure and intelligent solutions that accelerate digital transformation for clients.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop robust, cloud-native applications using Java, Spring Boot and microservices architectures.
• Create and implement secure APIs and distributed systems using Microsoft Azure services.
• Apply AI-assisted development tools to improve developer productivity, code quality and delivery speed.
• Work with multidisciplinary teams on architecture, design and delivery of enterprise software.
• Promote AI-driven engineering best practices, including automation, testing and performance optimization.
• Take part in technical design reviews, encourage continuous learning and drive adoption of emerging technologies.

Required profile

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience focused on backend and cloud-native systems.
• Hands-on knowledge of Java, Spring Boot, microservices and cloud architecture (Azure preferred).
• Experience with RESTful APIs, distributed systems and CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development platforms such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT or similar pair-programming tools.
• Solid understanding of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and monitoring/logging frameworks.
• Knowledge of software security principles and data protection in cloud environments.
• Ability to design, deliver and maintain high-performance, scalable applications in an agile environment.
• Preferred: exposure to AI model integration (chatbots, embeddings, generative APIs), experience driving DevOps automation with AI-enhanced workflows, and a track record of mentoring teams.
