Senior Manager, Ocean Policy

About the role

Conservation International is seeking a Senior Manager, Ocean Policy to lead and expand its Blue Climate program across the Americas and globally. Reporting to the Director, Ocean Policy, the role will shape and implement strategic policy initiatives that integrate coastal resilience, blue‑carbon conservation, and climate‑adaptation solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute international ocean‑policy strategies aligned with CI’s Blue Climate objectives.
• Lead policy analysis, drafting briefs, and recommendations for national and regional coastal management.
• Coordinate with the Center for Policy and Incentives to ensure coherence across CI’s broader policy portfolio.
• Engage with governments, NGOs, Indigenous groups, and private sector partners to advance blue‑carbon and nature‑based climate solutions.
• Support program management, monitoring, and reporting for ocean‑policy projects.
• Represent CI in international forums, working groups, and partnership meetings.

Required profile

• Proven experience in ocean, climate, or environmental policy at a senior level.
• Strong understanding of blue‑carbon ecosystems, coastal resilience, and green‑gray infrastructure.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills with the ability to influence multi‑stakeholder processes.
• Ability to work across diverse geographic regions and time zones.
