Senior Infrastructure Systems Engineer

About the role

TD SYNNEX is looking for a hands-on Infrastructure Engineer to build and automate modern enterprise infrastructure platforms. This is an engineering-first role focused on automation, platform build and scalable system delivery, working within an established architecture to deliver infrastructure through code rather than through tickets. The engineer must also understand the platforms being automated: the hypervisor, the operating system and the storage beneath them.

Key responsibilities

• Build and deploy infrastructure platforms across VMware and/or Nutanix, and Windows and Linux environments
• Develop and implement Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) solutions
• Automate manual processes through scripting and pipelines
• Contribute to infrastructure lifecycle activities: deployment, upgrades, scaling, capacity and optimization
• Support and build Kubernetes and container environments
• Troubleshoot production issues below the level of the tooling, across hypervisor, OS, storage and network, and drive them to root cause
• Create and maintain engineering documentation: runbooks, LLDs and handoff materials

Required profile

• 3-5 years of hands-on infrastructure or systems engineering
• Fluent written and spoken English
• Experience building and deploying production infrastructure environments
• Demonstrable depth in at least one core domain: virtualization, operating systems or storage, beyond the automation tools
• Must have personally built and deployed infrastructure, automated repetitive work with code or pipelines, and worked in code-driven environments (Git, CI/CD)
• Nice to have: a live-lab certification (CKA, CKAD, RHCSA, RHCE, VCP, VCAP), production-scale Kubernetes experience, reusable automation components, performance tuning or root-cause investigations

Required skills

• VMware or Nutanix: building, upgrading and sizing clusters
• Windows or Linux as an engineered platform, hardened, tuned, patched and troubleshot
• Terraform and/or Ansible
• PowerShell, Python or Bash
• Kubernetes or another container platform: deploying workloads, configuring namespaces and RBAC
• Familiarity with storage, backup or disaster recovery, including data protection and recovery validation
