Senior Engineer – Product Development Engineering

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Engineer to lead product development engineering for medical devices at Heraeus Medevio. The role will drive design and development activities across the product lifecycle, ensuring design validation and compliance with quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Create a technical execution plan with the project manager to set realistic dates and meet customer needs.
• Lead design and development activities throughout the product lifecycle.
• Interact with customers on technical deliverables, tailoring solutions to their requirements.
• Generate concepts and solve technical problems to meet project goals.
• Mentor engineers and technicians, conducting analysis to reduce execution risks.
• Oversee documentation for requirements, design output, verification and testing in line with QMS.
• Communicate complex information clearly to all stakeholders.
• Make technical decisions such as vendor selection and critical‑to‑quality aspects.
• Supervise team members, including selection, training, work assignment and performance management.
• Manage time, attendance, expenses, compliance and purchasing authorizations for direct reports.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading product development projects in the medical device sector.
• Strong leadership and mentorship abilities.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with customers and cross‑functional teams.
• Solid understanding of quality management systems and regulatory requirements.
• Ability to make decisive technical choices and manage project timelines.
