Senior Controller – Consumer Industry

About the role
Howard Financial is seeking a hands‑on Senior Controller to lead its consumer‑industry accounting portfolio. You will act as a technical accountant, people leader, and strategic partner for high‑growth clients.
Key responsibilities
- Own the full accounting cycle and lead month‑end/quarter‑end close processes.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of accounting professionals.
- Drive AI and automation initiatives to streamline accounting workflows and reduce manual effort.
- Serve as the primary accounting contact for consumer‑portfolio clients, building relationships and presenting financial results.
- Oversee accounting operations across the consumer industry portfolio, ensuring consistency and accuracy.
Required profile
- 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including hands‑on Controller or senior accounting leadership.
- Deep consumer industry knowledge (CPG, retail, or related).
- Proven experience implementing accounting automations or AI‑driven process improvements.
- Strong client‑facing and communication skills.
- CPA preferred; ERP proficiency required.
