Senior Application Data Architect – Remote (Colombia or Costa Rica)

About the role

This senior position combines technical architecture leadership with hands‑on data engineering. You will shape enterprise data platforms while actively delivering pipelines, semantic models and reporting layers for a remote team based in Colombia or Costa Rica.

Key responsibilities

• Design and evolve lakehouse, data‑warehouse and analytics architectures using Microsoft Fabric and Azure services.
• Define and enforce architectural standards, data‑quality rules, taxonomy and pipeline design patterns.
• Translate data strategy into epics, features and technical stories; lead planning, risk identification and dependency management.
• Mentor engineers, data scientists and architects, promoting system‑level thinking.
• Build and optimise data pipelines, dataflows, notebooks and semantic models; support migration from on‑prem SQL Server to Fabric.
• Collaborate with product owners and stakeholders to align solutions with business priorities.
• Monitor performance via logs and dashboards, and maintain clear technical documentation.

Required profile

• 4+ years of software or data‑engineering experience.
• Proven ability to design and implement enterprise‑scale data platforms.
• Experience leading technical initiatives and mentoring cross‑functional teams.
• Strong analytical mindset with a focus on performance, reliability and cost efficiency.
