Senior Accountant – Full‑time Hybrid Role

About the role

ABACUS Accounting Services is looking for a Senior Accountant I to join its team in San Rafael de Escazú. This full‑time hybrid position combines on‑site collaboration with remote flexibility, focusing on high‑quality accounting and tax services for a portfolio of clients.

Key responsibilities

• Perform final reviews of financial statements, reconciliations and supporting workpapers, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
• Prepare and review recurring and special tax filings, identify tax risks and recommend corrective actions.
• Lead monthly and annual closing processes for assigned clients, meeting all deadlines.
• Resolve complex accounting and tax issues, applying technical judgment and escalating high‑risk matters when needed.
• Provide technical mentorship to junior accountants and associates, reviewing their deliverables and supporting their development.
• Maintain proactive, consultative communication with clients, answering technical accounting and tax inquiries.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
