Restaurant Accountant with QuickBooks Online Expertise

About the role

We are seeking a detail‑oriented accountant with restaurant and QuickBooks Online experience to join Howard Financial’s collaborative team. You will work remotely as an independent contractor, supporting our hospitality clients with accurate financial reporting and day‑to‑day bookkeeping.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain financial records, categorize expenses, and manage the general ledger daily in QuickBooks Online.
• Reconcile daily POS sales reports with cash deposits, credit‑card payouts and delivery‑app transactions.
• Process vendor invoices, track accounts payable and ensure timely payments.
• Monitor restaurant cost metrics, including food & beverage COGS and labor expenses.
• Perform monthly bank and credit‑card statement reconciliations and generate basic profit & loss reports.

Required profile

• 1–3 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience in the restaurant/hospitality industry.
• Strong, practical experience using QuickBooks Online.
• Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment with a growth mindset.
• Available Monday‑Friday, 9 AM–5 PM EST.
