Refrigeration Utility Technician III

About the role

The Refrigeration Utility Technician III is responsible for complex industrial maintenance and troubleshooting of ammonia‑based refrigeration systems. Working with minimal supervision, you will ensure the facility’s cooling infrastructure operates safely and meets environmental standards.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain all aspects of the industrial ammonia refrigeration system, including exposure to water‑treatment chemicals.
• Perform preventative, predictive and reactive maintenance across the plant.
• Utilize a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to log work orders and document conditions.
• Apply Process Safety Management and wastewater system knowledge to support safe operations.
• Operate forklifts and scissor lifts in accordance with standard procedures.
• Provide feedback to management on improvement opportunities and participate in continuous‑improvement projects.
• Adhere to all safety rules, maintaining a clean and hazard‑free work environment.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience with industrial ammonia refrigeration systems.
• Ability to work independently with minimal guidance.
• Possession of one or more refrigeration operations certifications.
• Willingness to handle water‑treatment chemicals safely.
• Strong documentation skills using maintenance software.
