About the role

Walmart Global Tech is seeking a Principal Architect to define and drive the architectural vision across its enterprise platforms. This senior position blends business strategy with technology leadership to ensure scalable, resilient, and secure solutions that support global growth.

Key responsibilities

• Define and evolve target architectures for enterprise domains (C4–C5).
• Establish architectural principles, standards, and strategic patterns aligned with business goals.
• Lead complex technical decisions and act as a senior escalation point.
• Guide design of large‑scale, distributed, mission‑critical systems.
• Drive cross‑domain integrations and shared platform capabilities.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and business leaders.
• Mentor Senior Architects and Solution Architects.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend pragmatic adoption.

Required profile

• 10+ years of experience in software engineering, distributed systems, or architecture.
• Proven track record designing scalable, highly available, and resilient systems.
• Experience influencing technical direction across multiple teams or domains.
• Advanced English communication skills with executive‑level influence.
• Experience operating at enterprise or multi‑domain architecture levels is preferred.
