Optical Engineer - Freelance AI Trainer

About the role

We are looking for an Optical Engineer to join our freelance AI training team. You will design challenging optics problems that help evaluate and improve AI systems for leading tech companies.

Key responsibilities

• Design original optics problems that simulate real physics research workflows.
• Ensure problems are computationally intensive and cannot be solved manually within reasonable timeframes.
• Develop problems requiring non‑trivial reasoning in mechanics, electromagnetism, thermodynamics, and quantum mechanics.
• Base problems on real research challenges or practical applications from optics and physics practice.
• Document problem statements clearly and provide verified correct answers.

Required profile

• Degree in Physics (theoretical, experimental, or computational) or a related field.
• 2+ years of professional experience in applied research, teaching, or industry.
• Experience with numerical simulation methods.
• Ability to design problems that mirror real physics research workflows.
• Creative thinking across diverse physics areas.
• Strong written English (C1+).

What we offer
