Freelance Quantum Research Scientist (Python)

About the role

This freelance position involves designing and delivering original computational physics problems for AI testing and evaluation projects. You will work remotely with a platform that connects specialists to short‑term, project‑based AI opportunities.

Key responsibilities

• Design computational physics problems that mimic real research workflows in mechanics, electromagnetism, thermodynamics, and quantum mechanics.
• Create problem statements that require Python programming (NumPy, SciPy, SymPy) to solve.
• Ensure problems are computationally intensive and cannot be solved manually within reasonable timeframes.
• Base problems on genuine research challenges or practical physics applications.
• Validate solutions using Python and standard physics simulation libraries.
• Document problem statements clearly and provide verified correct answers.

Required profile

• Degree in Physics (theoretical, experimental, or computational) or a related field.
• At least 2 years of professional experience in research, applied work, or teaching.
• Strong written English proficiency (C1+).
• Creative thinking and ability to design problems that reflect real physics workflows.

Required skills

• Python programming.
• NumPy, SciPy, SymPy.
• Experience with numerical simulation methods and physics modeling.
